Hustlers Make Additional Man Count

Similar to the World Cup in Russia, the Arena Futsal League has reached its midpoint. The teams know what needs to be done to secure top spot or at the very least, rise up the table.

We kicked off the evening with Russla’s Hustlers against 4 Marriedman players. Russla’s established a 3-1 lead before Marriedman got a fifth player on the pitch. Unfortunately for Marriedman, it was 6-1 by halftime with goals from Mark Henderson, a hattrick from Seb Worthington, Blaine Shipley & debutant Warren Rickson. A more even 2nd half saw both sides score 3 goals each as Russla’s secured the win 9-4.

Over at Pitch 5, Lost Boys took on Red Indians in what turned out to be a close encounter. Lost Boys got their goals from Subra, Kalai, Ashton and crucially, a double strike from Suresh while a lively Red Indians team took the game to their opponents with 2 goals from debutant Faiz and Ganesh. Lost Boys took the 3 points to go 2nd in the standings.

The 9pm kickoff saw leaders FC Schlid face Bone Soup. This was Bone Soup's opportunity to go level with Schlid. However, a focused start saw Schlid establish a 5-1 lead with goals from Ben Horn, James Kilbee and Ben Backx while Bone Soup had Teck Kan to thank for their goal.
The break allowed Bone Soup to come to grips with the mammoth 🐘 task at hand. They started the 2nd half well and scored through Hazreel and Jia Nian and sensed a comeback but Kilbee scored to see Schlid through 6-3 and extend their lead at the top of the table to 5 points.

The final game was Balotellitubies against Hibernians and was Hibs who took their chances as 2 goals from Connor and 1 from Antonio saw them lead 3-0 at the break.
The 2nd half proved frustrating for the Tubbies as Connor helped himself to another double, as did Antonio to complete his hat-trick. A rather surprising result as Hibernians ran out 7-0 winners on the night and bring themselves nearer the chasing pack.

Next week will see Lost Boys take on Marriedman, who will be hoping to shake off the post-Raya celebrations and get more points on the board while leaders Schlid face Balotellitubbies in a crucial tie for top spot. Red Indians will hope for continued improvement in their performances against Bone Soup who aim to bounce back after defeat this week and Russla's welcome Hibernians in a crunch tie where victory will launch them into the title race.
