Tubbies Top Following Early Brace

Bone Soup FT was playing against Balotelitubbies in another top-of-the-table clash after being involved in a match of a similar nature 2 weeks prior. Bone Soup has been the most impressive of all teams in the league due to the way they play but came up against experienced and clever opponents who devised the perfect tactical strategy to contain them and pose a threat of their own.

Balotelitubbies stunned everyone watching on the sidelines by taking a 3-0 lead into the half-time break. Bone Soup was not allowed to get into their normal passing groove at all and on occasions that they did get close to their opponents goal, they were denied by blocks or good goalkeeping from the Tubbies. Tubbies, on the other hand, had a lot of space to attack and took full advantage with clinical finishing. They were also denied the opportunity to extend the lead further by good goalkeeping from Bone Soup.

In the second half, Tubbies sat back and soaked the pressure and although there were not many clear-cut chances created by Bone Soup. Bone Soup did pull one goal back to give them some hope but Tubbies got a 4th and comfortably saw out the game with some needed help from a substitute that came late. Balotelitubbies won 4-1 to go top of the table, one point clear of their opponents having played a game less.

The second match was an intense match between two teams that were within reach of the top position, FC Schlid and Lost Boys FC. Lost Boys took the lead but were pegged back by Schlid but Lost Boys went into the break with a deserved lead having had the better of the half. Schlid produced a great response in the second half, as the game see-sawed between both teams until the last few minutes of the game when Schlid equalised to make it 5-5 and then scored 2 more quickly later to add gloss to the result, winning 7-5. The win sees Schlid leapfrog Bone Soup into second place by virtue of better goal difference.

The final match between Red Indians and Russla's Hustlers turned out to be one-sided. Russla's took a heavy 9-0 lead into the half-time break. There was a spirited second-half showing by Red Indians in the second half who scored 5 goals but Russla's scored 8 more to win 17-5.
